BBB Architects has signed on to design Peter & Adelaide Condos and they’re planning an architecturally distinct project that will fit harmoniously with the urban corridor while adding character to the downtown west skyline. A dramatic curvilinear structural element will link the two towers, in the form of a uniquely-designed elevator shaft enclosed in a perforated metal “shroud.” This will provide definition and expression to the skyline.
A proposed pedestrian path will run north and south along the site’s western boundary, connecting to the building’s retail space and improving the public realm. A large portion of this retail space is expected to house a grocery store, which will occupy the entire second floor of the podium and part of the first.
A good amount of amenity space is planned for Peter & Adelaide Condominiums, including indoor amenities that take up the podium’s entire third floor and connect to 9,515 square feet of outdoor amenity space on the same level. On the easterly building’s 40th floor, 2,561 square feet of indoor amenities are proposed, connecting to 5,295 square-feet of outdoor amenities, which will provide spectacular views of the Toronto skyline.
225 vehicle spaces and 926 bicycle spaces are proposed in an underground parking lot.
