Sonic & SuperSonic is a new condominium development currently in pre-construction at 1185 Eglinton Avenue East in Toronto, Ontario by Lindvest. It consists of two high-rise buildings of 28 (Sonic) and 30 storeys (SuperSonic) in height and also includes four-storey townhomes located at Eglinton Avenue East and Don Mills Road.
The Eglinton & Don Mills High-Rise residential development proposal by Lindvest is still currently under review at the moment, but it sounds like this residential development will be constructed in phases. The proposal consists of two towers and townhouses. The North Tower (Building A SuperSonic) is proposed to be 30 storeys (92 metres in height) with a three-storey podium and the South Tower (Building B Sonic) is proposed to be 28 storeys (86 metres in height) also with a three-storey podium. Total gross floor area is 52,869 square metres. There are two proposed areas for the four-storey townhomes (Buildings C & D). There are 661 proposed dwelling units of which 48 will be townhouse units. 374 will be one-bedroom units, 215 will be two-bedroom units and 25 will be three-bedroom units.
The Sonic Condos is being developed around a new public street connecting Ferrand Drive to Foresters Lane. This block that contains this “L” shaped subject site is about 11 acres in size and includes an existing residential condominium and an existing 8 storey office building that is proposed to be demolished. This site is “bounded by Eglinton Avenue to the north, Ferrand Drive to the east, Rochefort Drive to the south and Don Mills Road to the west”. There is an open landscaped space that is about 2,000 square metres in size on the development site. One of the 4-storey stacked townhouses will be located on the south side containing 20 units on a new street and the other 4-storey stacked townhouses are located northeast of the site with 28 units on Ferrand Drive. The two towers will be located on the west side of the site on a new public street.
