Mountainview Heights is a comprehensively planned community which comprises the majority of the Waterdown South Secondary Plan area. The development is approximately 375 acres in total size, and is to be completed in three phases.
This site plan map is an excellent visual illustration on phase 2 and 3 plans in Mountainview Heights. The good news is, the community park, (abutting St Thomas School) is to be built in 2019. It is currently in the design stage and anticipated to be constructed in early 2019 once required services are installed. In phase 3, a new public elementary school is to be built after the land is registered and Hamilton Wentworth District School Board can purchase the land possibly 2020. There still needs to be funding secured from the provincial Ministry of Education. Once HWDSB receives funding, it will take approximately two years to build the new school. Phase 3 also includes the connection of Burke Street to Mountain Brow Road and Waterdown Road to the west, with two additional parks to be constructed. A large Commercial District is planned on Dundas Street East and will also include two condominium buildings..
Mountainview Heights is currently in phase 2 – approximately 50% of phase 2 houses are currently under construction, which is anticipated to continue into mid 2019 and will be followed by the installation of curb and sidewalks. Top asphalt will be placed in 2020.
