This portion of Yonge and the surrounding area is home to a number of exciting proposals. It’s a unique stretch, as it’s identified by the city as a “Special Character Street,” meaning it’s recognized for its overall heritage value and iconic stature, but it’s also been recognized by urban planners for its differing redevelopment potential in specific sections.
This means you’re likely to see many of the historic buildings along the vibrant retail stretch being restored for commercial and community use, while modern condominium developments are tastefully incorporated into each project to house the rapidly growing population of residents who want to call this downtown neighbourhood home.
It’s a great, central neighbourhood that scores a nearly perfect 97/100 on its Transit Score and a 99/100 on its Walk Score. A wealth of retail and entertainment options, not to mention both casual and upscale dining are at your fingertips here. A short walk takes you to some of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, including the glittering retail and cultural destination of Yorkville, historic Cabbagetown and the heart of Church and Wellesley Village, a friendly district known for its rainbow-coloured sidewalks.
You’re a short walk from both the University of Toronto and Ryerson University, the latter of which is continuously expanding and has helped to shape downtown Toronto into a hub for innovation and potential. Looking for an income property? This site is also just minutes by subway to some of the city’s high-density employment districts like the Financial District, Bay Street Corridor and Hospital Row.
This downtown Toronto condo is situated ideally for transit use. You’re minutes from the central hub at Yonge and Bloor, one of the only intersections in the city to provide rapid transit in all four directions. From here, the entire city is at your fingertips. Driving? Easy access to the Don Valley Parkway makes longer commutes a breeze too. We love this vibrant downtown neighbourhood and only anticipate growth, as more and more people begin to appreciate the perks of living close to all the action in the city.
