Description
Monde Condos proposed mixed-use building will contain some 540,000 square feet of residential and commercial space, distributed throughout two elements: a tower rising to about 36 storeys beside the Gardiner and a six-level podium extending south from under the tower to Queens Quay and will feature plant-covered roofs and lush stepped gardens.
Monde Condos has a total of 500 units and is scheduled for completion in 2018.
In addition to residential units, the development will feature ground floor retail, a daycare centre and potential office and cultural space. Ultimately, the project is expected to deliver a $200 million private sector investment in the community.
The Parkside site is bounded by Lower Sherbourne Street in the west, Bonnycastle Street in the east, Queens Quay East in the south and Lake Shore Boulevard in the north.
Monde Condos is the first private sector condominium neighbourhood to be developed within the East Bayfront area of the Waterfront Toronto community. Monde Condominiums is a stunning construction of limestone-coloured masonry and translucent glass. It’s a balance between architecture and nature, seldom achieved.
