The Design District Summary
This new condo project is coming to the heart of downtown Hamilton with excellent connections to everyday conveniences and prime transportation options.
The Design District Condos is a new high-rise condominium development by EMBLEM in Hamilton. This 31 storey pre-construction project with 931 condo units will sit at Wilson St, by Wilson St and James St North in the downtown core.
Investors will be able to choose from 211 one-bedroom, 215 one-bedroom + den, 420 two-bedroom and 62 three-bedroom suites.
Amenities
The Design District Condos will use a black and white colour scheme, consisting of vertical lines across all three towers. The podium below the towers will start at the fourth storey and rise to the seventh story.
The podium will share the verticality of the bricks and windows found on the Trinity Lutheran Church, which is found on the northeast intersection of Wilson and Hughson Street North. Juliet-style balconies on the podium will provide a view of the church from the north and south side of the building.
This condo will contain a total of 9,326 square metres of indoor and outdoor amenity space. Within these spaces, Within these spaces, we can expect to find a variety of convenient facilities, from well-equipped gyms to yoga studios, entertainment lounges and outdoor terraces. Similar to EMBLEM’s previous projects, we can expect this latest one to feature superior amenities that will undoubtedly benefit and add convenience to its residents’ lifestyles.
The building at street level will include a larger public area to accommodate residential and pedestrian usage. The space will serve as an area for an urban plaza, which will be located adjacent to the building, facing Hughson Street. Commercial facades will predominantly be on Hughson Street, while all facades at street level will include extended public space for furniture, trees and high-quality unit paving.
The more efficient use of spaces on The Design District Condos will create higher suite valuations for investors. As a multi-node building, spaces will be used more efficiently to provide commercial stores that represent the greater downtown area and facilitate access to new cost-saving transportation options. The development will contain a total of 1,784 square metres of retail space on the ground floor.
These design choices will give residents greater access to amenities without leaving the complex. Additionally, the building’s exterior aesthetic will be similar to other buildings’ architecture, to maintain the preexisting design choices throughout the neighbourhood.
The developers have proposed ample parking spaces for its residents, with 505 spaces provided in an underground parking garage. Bicycle parking space will also be available totalling 469 spaces, 15 of which will be for short-term/retail use.
